ROTTERDAM, 13 September 2021 – Arvato Financial Solutions taps profit consultant Mi-Pay to facilitate the introduction of viacash as a payment method for outstanding payments in Switzerland. The move enables Swiss debtors to pay their debts on SBB ticket machines at every SBB train stop in the country with cash and debit cards (Maestro, Postfinance) in real-time.
For its operations in Switzerland, Arvato Financial Solutions has now added viacash to its wide range of accepted payment methods. With the addition of viacash, Swiss debtors are now able to pay their outstanding bills at every Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) public transport station.
As a long-time partner and provider of payment reminder services to Arvato Financial Solutions, Mi-Pay is supporting the debt collection agency in the launch of viacash for its Swiss customers.
How viacash improves conversions
viacash is the largest bank-independent cash-payment infrastructure in Europe and is currently active in six countries. The service enables customers to make deposits via barcode at any of their 20,000+ supported points of sale.
The consumer-friendly approach and ease of use is what made viacash a logical choice for Arvato Financial Solutions. “A major part in the optimization of the dunning process is access to payment methods. Customers sometimes have the means to pay but aren’t always able to do so in a way that works for them” says Martin Zoller, Director Business Intelligence at Arvato Financial Solutions.
When a customer is in arrears, Arvato Financial Solutions sends out a payment reminder with paylink, via email or SMS. Upon clicking on the paylink, the debtor is redirected to a landing page with all the relevant information regarding the debt and the available payment methods. If the debtor chooses viacash, a barcode is generated that can be scanned 24/7, nationwide, at any SBB ticket machine available in the country. After choosing viacash on the ticket machine and scanning the barcode, the customer is able to pay the outstanding amount with either cash (Euro / Swiss Franc) or debit card.
For Tamim Qadire, Business Development Manager at viafintech (the company behind viacash), the adoption of the payment method by Arvato Financial Solutions in Switzerland is further validation of the fintech firm’s mission. “We believe that financial services should be accessible to everyone. They should be safe, easy to use and perfectly integrated into our daily lives. The fact that Arvato Financial Solutions is now offering viacash is a great success within our growth strategy.”
