Mi-Pay to deliver mobile topup services to Carphone Warehouse’s new flagship MVNO, Talkmobile. 19 January 2009 – Leading mobile payments provider Mi-Pay has announced that it has been selected again by Carphone Warehouse to provide an indemnified prepaid top-up service to its new MVNO flagship Talkmobile. The new service will enable Talkmobile subscribers to topup their prepaid accounts directly from their handset and to manage their accounts online through a simple web interface. Mi-Pay already delivers its mobile topup capability to other Carphone Warehouse MVNOs including Fresh, MobileWorld and TalkTalk emphasising the value Carphone Warehouse places on its services. Mi-Pay’s previous topup implementations have delivered significant value, with costs being over 30% lower, average topup values being over 12% greater and customer retention being 20% better than traditional topup channels. This can add up to an extra £200 customer lifetime value. As with the previous installations, the Carphone Warehouse required a flexible and stable service that can incorporate standard pre-pay and the new generation of hybrid services. However, the new MVNO Talkmobile service will take this to a new level with a fully unified pre-pay payment service across all direct channels to provide a seamless customer experience whilst greatly reducing the potential impact of fraud.
