Whilst the hype cycle for mobile money remains at a peak with various publications predicting ever outrageous forecasts for money remittances and domestic transfers across Africa and elsewhere, its hard to cut through the chaff and get to the heart of what is actually happening on the ground.
One new publication that we like a lot here at Mi-Pay is Mobile Money Africa. Some time, I was contacted by the Editor Emmanuel Okoegwale, who has been active on LinkedIn for some time and asked to contribute a small article which I duly did, not thinking much of it at the time.
I recently received notification of the first edition which can be viewed at the main website here. This is a great magazine with almost 30 pages of useful articles and information describing many of the dozens of mobile money initiatives under way across the entire continent.
If anyone wants to understand the real state of mobile money in Africa then Mobile Money Africa is a great place to start. I'm looking forward to the next issue already!
